Transfer Credit for Incoming 学生
成绩单 will be evaluated after the student has been admitted to Gadsden State.
- Only official transcripts will be evaluated for transfer credit from each college attended. The Registrar’s Office does not accept third party transcripts (i.e. transfer credit given by another college). Student copies will not be utilized for evaluation of official transfer credit.
- No NUR classes outside of the Alabama Community College System are accepted for transfer.
- A grade of “D” will be accepted. The exception to this rule is a grade of a "D" in English Composition I. Selective admissions programs may treat transfer of credit differently.
- The grade of “D” may only be applied to general education courses for the associate degree unless program restrictions or course prerequisites prohibit. See Course Descriptions for specific prerequisite requirements.
- No pass/fail courses may transfer.
- 300 level or above courses will not be accepted for transfer. However, exceptions may be made by the appropriate instructional dean(s) on a case-by-case basis.
- CIS 146 courses more than five years old will be evaluated by the appropriate deans only if requested by the student.
- Courses taken under a quarter or trimester system will be evaluated and adjusted to the semester system.
- 学生 inquiring about the application of transfer credit can request a re-evaluation at any time in the 招生 and Records Office.
Awarding Credit through Experiential Learning
- Credit for experiential learning can be awarded only after the assessment of experiential learning experiences and only for documented learning that demonstrates achievement of all terminal objectives for a specific course or courses.
- Course credit earned through experiential learning shall be noted on the student’s transcript as having been awarded through experiential learning.
- Credit for academic transfer courses awarded through experiential learning may be awarded by examination or nationally-recognized guidelines only (DANTES, Challenge Exams, ACE PONSI/CREDIT, and ACE/Military). Credit for experiential learning (portfolio review) may not be awarded for academic transfer courses.
- No more than 25% of the total credit required for any program may be awarded as a result of experiential learning, CLEP, 等. Credit awarded through experiential learning does not count toward the minimum of 25% of semester credit hours that must be completed at the college granting the degree as referenced in Alabama Community College System Policy 715.01.
- Before receiving credit through experiential learning for a course, an individual must meet enrollment requirements of the course.
- Credit may not be awarded twice for the same learning.
